Rebecca Moore is a highly accomplished, award-winning singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Her music is described as traversing the plains between Led Zeppelin’s ‘Battle of Evermore’ and Stevie Nicks’ ‘Gold Dust Woman’.
Rebecca is currently producing her third full length album titled ‘The Goddess of War’ with Mike Caen at his studio in Darlinghurst, New South Wales. She is also working on this record with Elliot Smith at Sundown Studios in Fremantle, Western Australia.
The first single from this album is the title track ‘The Goddess of War’. It will be released in the Australian Spring of 2024. This song details the story of Lilith, Adam’s first wife and her journey to freedom through refusing to take the blame for his mistake. It chronicles the sacrifice she makes in standing up for her right to be treated as his equal.
Rebecca is signed with record label MCM Global Team in Ireland, UK. Her 12-track album ‘Return’ was released by them on the 21st June, 2021.
‘Return’ was recorded with Martin Russell at Sonic Innovation Studios in London, UK and David Sparks at Pirate Studios in Tathra, NSW Australia. It spans more than a decade of touring and songwriting. The songs on this album combine the beauty of Rebecca’s deep connection to her Celtic heritage with creative lyricism, the power of rock music and the emotion of the blues.
In both 2021 and in 2022, Rebecca was nominated for the Australian Folk Music Awards, People’s Choice Award. Throughout her career she has received many nominations and awards for her songwriting including winning the inaugural APRA Professional Development Award in the Rock category in 2001. Rebecca has numerous top 10 placings in the Australian Independent Music Awards, the Songsalive Song Comp, Musicoz, Toyota Starmaker (Finalist) and the Australian Songwriters Association Songwriting Awards. She was nominated for the ASA Rudy Brandsma Award for Songwriting Excellence in 2013 and has toured extensively in Australia and Europe.
Rebecca has supported many great artists including Archie Roach, Xavier Rudd, Christine Anu, The John Butler Trio, Jon Stevens (Noiseworks), Sarah McLeod (The Superjesus), The Backsliders and the Afro Celt Sound System at the Sydney Opera House.
Since 2008 Rebecca has raised over $22,000 for a group of Orphans in Myanmar, known as the Nargis Children. The funds were donated to the Phaung Daw Oo Monastic School to help with the support, care and education of the orphans. Rebecca is driven both by music and a strong social conscience and has an ongoing commitment to raise awareness and funds for these lost children.
